Last Monday I played "tourist". Took off and went to the beach with my sister. We walked, read our books, watched the surfers and kiteboarders, and relaxed. The temps were in the mid-80s, the water was warm, and the crowds were very light. It was the perfect laid-back day. Tuesday I went back to work.
My point is, you can so do that here.  You don't even have to take the day off - after work you can relax on the beach for a few hours, or go fishing, or learn a new sport - or better yet watch someone else learn a new sport. The climate allows you to be outside literally 365 days a year, and our beautiful rivers, marshes and coastline open up a wide variety of areas to expand your horizons. And thats just the outdoor stuff.
