Monkey Junction
Monkey Junction is the section of land located between College Road & Carolina Beach Road in New Hanover County. It is currently outside of the official Wilmington city limits but there is recent talk of annexation.
 While Myrtle Grove is the official name of the area, Monkey Junction is the affectionate term used by all the locals. The name was coined approximately 70 years ago when at this junction of College & Carolina Beach Roads was a gas station & the owner kept a pet monkey there every day to attract customers.
